Harmonic Drive gears are ideal for use in HDVA valve actuators as typically applied to the regulation of the pulp consistency in the headbox of paper machines. The valve adjustment is effected by a stepping motor with encoder feedback combined with a Harmonic Drive HDUC component set. This gear ensures precise and backlash-free positioning during the whole operating life of the actuator.
The housing of the actuator is manufactured from stainless steel and has a special sealing arrangement to provide IP 65 protection. In order to achieve a short axial length, the output shaft features a special design with the support bearings located outside the Flexspline. As shown in the drawing, the actuator features a handwheel to allow manual adjustment in the event of a power failure.
